Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the results. Hollister Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those searches on its own servers. If you contact the operators, the mailbox receives the details included in your message and uses them to answer.
Routine Technical Logs
Hosting infrastructure may record an IP address, browser type, requested pages, and timestamps. Those logs are reviewed in aggregate for reliability and broad traffic patterns. Basic analytics, cookies, or advertising measurement tools may also process limited technical information where they are enabled.
How Information Is Used
Information is used to operate the pages, diagnose errors, measure general readership, and improve the reference. Visitor lists are not sold, and individual user profiles are not built from the limited data described here.
External Portals and Services
Pages link to San Benito County and California records portals, libraries, archives, and sponsored search tools. Once a visitor leaves the directory, the outside provider’s privacy policy controls what is submitted and retained. Those providers set their own terms, fees, and data practices.
Who May Process It
Hosting and technical service providers may process ordinary server logs. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the limited automatic information described above when those tools are active. Disclosure also may occur when valid legal process requires it; otherwise, information is not shared as a visitor list.
Security and Retention
The connection is encrypted in transit, and logs are kept only for as long as the operating purposes require. There are no directory accounts, passwords, or personal profiles for a visitor to manage or expose through the service.
Visitors Under 18
The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. Personal information is not knowingly collected from anyone under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor submitted information, use the Contact page so the operators can look for it and remove it.
California Privacy Choices
Depending on the circumstances, California’s Consumer Privacy Act, Civil Code section 1798.100 et seq., provides rights to know, correct, delete, and limit or opt out of certain uses of personal information, subject to exceptions. Because the directory keeps little visitor data, a request generally involves checking the contact mailbox and applicable server logs. Use the Contact page to ask. Public records held by California, San Benito County, or Hollister offices are controlled by their custodians, not by this directory; removal requests for those records belong with the office that maintains them.
Policy Updates
Changes will be posted in a revised policy. Continued use after an update indicates acceptance of the new version.
